Trucks and More
As many of you know, Minter’s Farm is a home for all things rusty. Some things run and some things sit. But all things here have a sentimental value that makes them irreplaceable. Each one of us have adapted some sort of love for an old, loud 4-speed flatbed here at the farm, but it’s not always about the trucks. There are many toys here at the farm… from tractors to engines, and cars to trucks; nothing goes unloved here at the farm! Check out the posts that will tell you what is going on here at the farm and what is happening with these old relics too.
Rick’s Rusty Relics: Another Lesson Learned (the hard way)
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned over the years is to never leave an engine sitting without an air cleaner over the carburetor. Even with the hood closed on a vehicle that sits outside – or maybe even inside – water will get into an engine and...

Rusty Relics: Old-fashion hearts are both young and old
I ran into my old-car friend Garry McWhirter (the guy at NASCAR races and car shows wearing red shoes) at the Cumming Steam and Gas Exposition last weekend. We were talking about the state of the old car/old truck/old tractor hobby and he said that when he...
Rusty Relics: The old ride gets a new ticker
Back in the day, one of my favorite cousins, the late Weldon Stubbs, was well known in these parts for his slow driving. He rarely drove over 45 or 50 miles per hour, and even though there was a lot less traffic back then, he could stack up some cars...
Rusty Relics: My own personal Purple People Eater
Anybody that knows anything about me knows how cheap I am. I’ll spend money at the parts store or the junkyard, but not a lot. When we go out to eat, anything over $10 a person makes me uncomfortable. I’ve made trips to Daytona for the races and spent...
